We had a great weekend with the West of Scotland Drystone Wallers who worked here two days - it was dry and bright and not really midgy! They were tackling a difficult section of our boundary wall where the underlying rock is just at surface level and it’s rising up very steeply.
We are very lucky that they usually come to Glenarn for a working weekend once a year and our boundaries constantly improve. All I have to do is provide soup, rolls and cake and they do the rest.
Now we are officially closed, it’s very peaceful and there’s a chance to plan the autumn work while the soil is still warm and wet. We’re hoping to get some planting done in the next month. And there’s still colour from late flowers, seed pods and the turning leaves.
